Man suffers 3 stab wounds on South Side
YOUNGSTOWN — A man at an apartment on East Midlothian Boulevard was found with three stab wounds when officers responded to a 9:04 p.m. Thursday 911 call.
The victim, who said a woman did it, was in stable condition later at St.Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
When officers arrived at the location of the stabbing, they found the man in the hallway in an area of blood. One of the officers asked him where he was stabbed, and he said “all over,” a police report states.
The officer saw a stab wound to the man’s upper right leg with a belt tied around it. The officer started to perform life-saving measures by taking his department-issued tourniquet and applied it to the victim’s leg.
An ambulance arrived and took over the man’s care. They found another stab wound to his rib cage and a cut to his knee.
When the officer asked the man what happened, he said, “I don’t know why she would do this. She got me all over.” He would not provide her name and was uncooperative, the report states. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The man’s apartment was searched for the unidentified woman and the weapon, but neither were found.
Officers asked a person there if he or she knew what happened, and the person said someone said something happened on the first floor.
The person went to the first floor, knocked on the door, and the victim opened the door and “fell into (his or her) arms.” The person called 911 and stayed with the victim until police arrived.
The person also said that when officers were coming into the building, they passed the suspect, who had two purses with her. The woman was captured on a Youngstown police officer’s body camera, the report states.
At the hospital, the victim’s condition was stable, the report states.
