WHAT: Board of Education meeting July 23
PRESENT: Shawn Chrystal, Janine Hamilton, Hans Kirr, David Malone, Kara Morgan and Superintendent Debbie Mettee
The board:
•Agreed to place a five-year renewal levy on the November ballot to raise $1,776,316 annually.
•Appointed Hans Kirr as the Ohio School Boards Association delegate and David Malone as the alternate delegate to the annual business meeting of the Ohio School Boards Association on Nov. 11.
•Approved one-year contracts with EduTech Group LLC, delivery of shared technology services for $127,000; AARIS Therapy Group of Niles, speech language pathology services, $85,000 per year, occupational therapy services, screenings, evaluations, teacher consultations and reporting, less than $52,500 per year; and Warwick, repair, replacement of defective parts and associated labor, priority dispatching, help desk and technical support for the district’s telephone system for $9,895.
•Approved a three-contract with Apptegy for the redesign, maintenance and ongoing support for the district’s website at $34,314.
•Announced Jason Kidd of the Mahoning Valley Dragons AA Baseball Team will contribute $35,000 for repair, maintenance and restoration of the Liberty High School baseball field;
•Accepted the resignation of Peyton Grover, 8th-grade English language arts teacher, effective July 18 and Jensyn Orr, effective July 3.
•Hired on one-year contracts Shayna Raidel, English language arts teacher; Laura Sherwood, Title I teacher; Danae Kempe, cook; David Marino, afternoon and evening custodian; and Wanda Clark, substitute.
•Went into executive session regarding employment.
