Woman, 43, gets 2 to 3 years for Boardman credit union robbery

YOUNGSTOWN — Bobbisue Averill, 43, was sentenced to two to three years in prison Thursday after pleading guilty earlier to the Aug. 12, 2022, robbery of the Seven-Seventeen Credit Union on California Avenue in Boardman.

She received the sentence from Judge Anthony D’Apolito of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Boardman police said a woman gave the credit union teller a threatening, handwritten note demanding money. The woman then left and got into the passenger seat of a black Ford Explorer.

Police posted images on social media of the suspect and got tips helping to identify her.

After Boardman police identified her as the suspect in the robbery, they learned she was at Jordan’s Market in Youngstown and arrested her. She has been in the Mahoning County jail since Aug. 13.
