YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed the Adult Toys and Gifts store, also known as Adultmart, 1410 Market St., at 8:52 p.m. Dec. 9.

Police have released several images of the robbery and are asking for anyone with information on the man’s identity to call the Youngstown Police Department at 330-742-8911.

The man came into the store twice, police said. The second time, he pulled out a gun and said, “I’m here to rob you” and pointed the gun at the clerk. He ordered the clerk to unlock the register and give him cash.

The suspect was wearing gray sweatpants with black stripes and a dark gray or black hooded sweatshirt. He was about 5 foot 10 with a slim build. He was wearing a gray ski mask, gray or green stocking cap and was armed with an unknown make of handgun, police said.

After getting about $83 in cash, he fled the store on foot and was last seen running west on Cleveland Street, police said.

Interviews with store employees revealed that the suspect had been “lurking around the store in the recent past, and may live close by,” police said.
