Man indicted on child sex charges
LISBON — A Wellsville man accused of engaging in sexual acts with four young children starting in 2012 was indicted by the grand jury in January.
Timothy James Coles, 36, 18th Street, Wellsville, was served a secret indictment charging him with attempted rape, a first-degree felony; two counts of rape, each a first-degree felony; attempted sexual battery, a third-degree felony; and four counts of gross sexual imposition, each a third-degree felony.
Between July 23, 2014, and continuing through July 22, 2017, Coles is accused of attempting to engage in sex with a child between the ages of 10 and 12. Additionally, he is accused of engaging in sexual activity with a second child, who was less than 10 between Nov. 13, 2012, and Nov. 12, 2016, behavior that allegedly continued until 2018 with a child who was 6 when the abuse began.
Finally, Coles is accused of abusing a third child beginning May 1, 2017, and continuing through Dec. 31, 2019, and a fourth child between Jan. 1, 2019, and Dec. 31, 2019, with the abuse of each child beginning when one was 6 and the other when the child was 9.
