YSU seeks vax status of students, employees

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University is partnering with a company called Med+Proctor to collect the vaccination status of students and employees.

“We are partnering with Med+Proctor to securely collect the vaccination status of students and employees. We strongly encourage you to update your status,” the university stated on social media. “Knowing what percentage of our student body and faculty members have been vaccinated against COVID-19 is critically important to remain on campus as it will better enable the university to make the best decisions regarding everyone’s health and safety.

“We are asking all students, faculty and staff who have been vaccinated to voluntarily share that information through Med+Proctor.”

The university has no vaccine mandate but strongly encourages all unvaccinated students to get vaccinated.

The students and staff are not required to share their vaccine status, but YSU encourages them to do so. They are asked to scan their vaccine card or send a photo to Med+Proctor, which provides immunization verification and compliance software.
