Developer buys N. Side properties for $1.93M

YOUNGSTOWN — A Bayville, N.Y., company purchased four apartment buildings near Wick Park on the city’s North Side for $1.93 million.

Youngstown Rentals LLC, the company, recently finalized the purchase of the buildings from Brill University Apartments Ltd.

These are the first properties in Mahoning County bought by the company that incorporated Sept. 9.

It also divests Brill University Apartments of all of its properties in the county. Brill University is co-owned by James C. and Donna Brill, according to its articles of organization filed Dec. 10, 2008, with the Ohio secretary of state.

The apartment buildings are located at 205 and 215 Park Ave. and at 847 and 853 Ohio Ave.

All of the buildings are two floors and range in square footage from 1,872 to 5,568, according to the Mahoning County auditor’s website.

As part of the Nov. 10 sale, Youngstown Rentals also purchased a lot at 849 Ohio Ave.

County auditor records show:

• Brill University had the property at 849 Ohio Ave. transferred at no cost from James C. Brill on May 19, 2011. He bought it for $45,000 on Oct. 5, 2010;

• The 205 Park Ave. property was purchased Dec. 23, 2014, by Brill University from MPW Investments for $82,000;

• The 215 Park Ave. building was transferred at no cost to Brill University on Jan. 16, 2009, from James C. and Donna Brill. The couple had purchased it for $32,500 on Aug. 3, 1995;

• The building at 847 Ohio Ave. was transferred at no cost May 19, 2011, to Brill University from James C. Brill, who bought it for $45,000 on Oct. 5, 2010, from CV LLC;

• The 853 Ohio Ave. property was transferred at no cost Jan. 16, 2009, to Brill University from James C. Brill, who bought it for $35,000 on July 6, 1992.
