BOARDMAN — Construction is again underway at Boardman Spartan Stadium thanks to the Boardman Boosters and community donors.

Construction work at the stadium this year will include an expansion of the concession plaza and walkway, two new ticket booths, entrance upgrades, and placement of donor bricks and donor plaques. To date the Boardman Booster Club and its supporters have donated more than $3 million to the project.

The project recently received a new and major commitment.

“As we see the dirt moving again at the stadium entrance, some major donations are starting to roll in once again,” booster President Bruce Flyak said. “We want to thank Valley developer Chuck Whitman, who has just donated $40,000 to the stadium project.”

Whitman, a 1972 Boardman graduate, will be recognized through sponsorship of a new ticket booth at Spartan Stadium.

His CTW Development Corp. is a leading commercial and residential developers in the Mahoning Valley. Formed in 1987, CTW has grown to offer more than 1.5 million square feet of office and retail space and has developed more than 700 residential home sites in and around the Valley and other Ohio areas.

The Westford Lifestyle Community in Canfield is just one of CTW’s projects, featuring the 7,050-yard, par 71 Kennsington Golf Course, Kennsington Grille, Courtyard Marriott and the 26,000-square-foot Waypoint 4180 event center.

“Chuck has been a great supporter of the Boardman Booster Club and Boardman schools for many years and his latest donation will be recognized with signage on a newly constructed ticket booth at Spartan Stadium,” Flyak said.

Fundraising is ongoing. The Booster Club still has one remaining ticket booth sponsorship, in addition to other advertising / sponsorship opportunities at Spartan Stadium.

“While all of our full-sized lockers have been sponsored, we do still have opportunities to sponsor half-sized lockers for $750 each in the new locker room facility. You can leave a legacy when you donate,” Flyak said.
