WHAT: City council meeting Monday

PRESENT: William Williams, Bonnie Viele, Robin Zambrini, Michael Mogg, Michael Toda, Jerome Crowe, Michael Kerr, Ryan Hallapy and Mayor Ben Kyle

Council:

• Approved trick or treat for 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31, which is the same as Hubbard Township. Kyle said the city will follow guidelines from the county health department and Gov. Mike DeWine, with children wearing masks and being safe while going door to door;

• Gave second reading to naming the Myron Street bridge as “Hubbard Veterans Bridge.” Plans are to dedicate the bridge to veterans next Memorial Day. Kyle said the Myron Street bridge replacement project began Aug. 1 and is scheduled to be completed by December. The project has been planned for several years.

WHAT: Board of Education meeting Monday

PRESENT: Amanda O’Neill, Rocky Adams, William Cummings, Don Newell and Tony Pantone

The board:

• Accepted an anonymous donation of 10 ukuleles valued at $417 to music classes;

• Acceped retirement / resignations of Janice Fye, bus driver, effective June 1, 2020, and Barb Toth, art teacher, at end of school year;

• Approved Beth Kennedy and Nicole Durrett as bus drivers;

• Approved hiring Nicole Silvidi, registered nurse, to assist with health care “as needed” at $90 per day;

• Approved for the Hubbard community pool Melissa DeMattio, aquatic fitness instructor / personal trainer at $15 per hour; Marissa Davis, swim school instructor at $12 per hour; and Elizabeth Brand, lifeguard at $9.55 per hour;

• Approved Michael Wilcox as yearbook and athletic department volunteer photographer;

• Accepted the resignation of Laura Stanislaw as crossing guard effective Oct. 5.
