Man named in Red Zone complaint
YOUNGSTOWN — A federal complaint names Andrew K. Williams, 23, of Youngstown as charged with being a felon in possession of two firearms after his Sept. 5 arrest by Youngstown police.
U.S. Attorney Justin Herdman of the Northern District of Ohio announced Monday that Williams will be prosecuted under the federal-state-local Operation Red Zone that was conducted in Youngstown during the Labor Day weekend.
“This defendant was in the Red Zone, meaning that he was prohibited from possessing firearms under federal law based on a prior felony conviction,” Herdman said. “Each and every illegal firearm we can take off the streets makes our communities a safer place to live.”
