BOARDMAN — A crash over the weekend left a teen motorcyclist seriously injured.

Khaled Abunoaj, 18, of Boardman, is hospitalized after the 7 p.m. Saturday crash near the intersection of Market Street and U.S. Route 224.

Bara Albdour, a family friend, explained that Abunoaj had to have a leg amputated and was “not in great condition” earlier in the day, but “pulled through.” The teen suffered a broken femur and hip sustained from the crash, Albdour said.

Albdour said that Abunoaj was traveling on Route 224 when the collision happened with an SUV, turning left onto Market Street headed north. Albdour said that Abunoaj is at Mercy Health in Youngstown. More information was not available Monday from investigators.
