CANFIELD — The Canfield Fair will go on as of now, according to George Roman, director of concessions and entertainment.

Currently, the 174th Canfield Fair is scheduled to run Sept. 2-7.

The fair’s board members have had discussions for the last several months, Roman said, with the state and Mahoning County board of health teams and Gov. Mike DeWine.

Board members will likely discuss the matter at its meeting on Tuesday.

“We’ve been taking it day by day,” Roman said Thursday, just one day after Columbiana County announced the cancellation of its fair this year.

The biggest concern, Roman said, is the 4-H program, as well as the health and well-being of staff and attendees.
