The board:
• Approved the electricity supply agreement with Freepoint Energy Solutions, LLC for retail electric service effective Dec. 1, 2019 through Dec. 31;
• Approved a bus driver safety bonus, which will be paid every three months over the nine month school period. Each trimester the bus driver will be awarded $800, with the total amount possible $2,400, effective July 1, 2018 through June 30;
• Approved Erica Seefried as a full time payroll secretary, effective Nov. 11;
• Recalled Nicholas Mediate from RIF to grade 3 STEM at Austintown Intermediate School, effective Dec. 9;
• Approved resignations for bus drivers Lorraine H. Federovitch, effective Dec. 13, and Dane Carder, effective Dec. 1, and approved the resignation of Tiffany Hayes, falcon five assistant, effective Dec. 9;
• Approved personnel transfers within the food service department for Eileen Mitchell and Luanne Fox and approved a position change for Heather Scott from 4 hour a.m. / p.m. paraprofessional bus aide to 3 hour p.m. paraprofessional bus aide;
• Appointed Deanna Blaine as a special educational professional at Austintown Elementary School, effective Nov. 22, replacing Mackenzie Bendel, and appointed Zachary Pezzulo to special education paraprofessional at Fitch High School, effective Nov. 9, replacing Mary Ann Lemke;
• Appointed Beth Kennedy as a bus driver, effective Nov.25, and Samatha Mehle to Sweeper Cleaner at Austintown Elementary School, replacing Stephen Dorbish, effective Nov. 9;
• Appointed Rosanne Alexander, Briona Collins, Mellissa Eells, April Ferguson, Constance Morales and Lisa Mozzillo as medical assistants;
• Appointed Kari Knight and Megan Rust as Home Instruction tutors and Michelle Deniro as a Title 1 after school tutor at a rate of $18.10 per hour;
• Appointed Marilyn Mehit a Title 1 tutor at $16 per hour, limited to 5.75 hours per day, five days per week, not to exceed 28.75 hours per week;
• Approved Ashlee Gabrick as a substitute food service staff and Dale Hall as substitute custodial staff;
• Appointed Lisa Costello, Anthony Mera-glio, Tina Kubacki, Angela Kopp, Megan Rust, Michelle DeNiro and Cathy Garstka as year one resident educator mentors and Lisa Costello, Jen Noel, Tammy Deeley, Jan Nelson, Joya Villani, Kari Knight, April King and Sherri McKeown as year two residential educator mentors. Jennifer Houston, Alicia Burnfield, Kim Fresen and Patty Manning were appointed new hire mentors;
• Appointed the following coaches: Anthony Parker to head varsity football, Greg Tibolla to co-assistant wrestling, Nicole Steiner to Fitch assistant boys track, Robert Jones and Becki Spalding to Fitch assistant softball, Lance Ronghi, Dylan Latone and Zack Krohn to Fitch assistant girls track, Darris Binion to Middle School grade seven boys basketball, Justin Goist and Tex Martin to Middle School assistant wrestling and Jake Capezzuto to Middle school girls basketball;
• Approved 32 event workers at a rate of $12.50 per hour;
• Approved volunteers Robert Malizia for VEX Robotics, Kira Neef for track, Maxwell Prizant for wrestling and Tyler Brown for girls bowling;
• Approved a two-year limited contract for Brittany Morell as the marking and public relations specialist, effective Jan. 1, 2020 to June 30, 2022;
• Approved a two-year limited contract for Daniel Wedding as a certified strength and conditioning specialist, effective Jan. 1, 2020 to June 30, 2022;
• Approved a revised unpaid meal charge policy, effective Dec. 17, 2019;
• Set the organizational meeting for Jan. 15, 2020, in the David Ritchie Legacy Room, followed by a regular board meeting at the Austintown Middle School at 6 p.m. Kim Smrek and David Porter will be sworn in as board members at the organizational meeting.

WHAT: Township trustees meeting Monday
PRESENT: Doug McGlynn, Ken Carano, Jim Davis
Trustees:
• Approved the purchase of 10 vacant parcels for the sum of $10,000;
• Approved proceeding with the submission of a five-year, 0.6 mill renewal levy for the purpose of current expenses;
• Approved a time change of the Dec. 23 meeting to 6 p.m.;
• Declared four properties a nuisance and two junk vehicles;
• Approved demolition of a single-family home at 117 N. Navarre Ave. after it was declared unsafe and structurally defective by the Austintown Township fire inspector;
• Increased cemetery fund appropriations to $57,000;
• Approved a $25,000 advance from the general find to the communications fund;
• Scheduled a public hearing for proposed amendment 2019-02-Z for 7 p.m. Jan. 13;
• Heard from the park department that Christmas trees can be dropped off Austintown Township park to be recycled. Residents are reminded to remove all ornaments and lights from the trees, and follow signs in the park to the drop-off location. In the spring, the trees will be dumped in ponds and lakes to make habitats for fish;
• Announced that non-perishable food items for the Austintown Middle School pantry can be dropped off at the township hall, in the lobby of the police station and fire station one, and at the senior center.
