A man suffered a gunshot wound at the corner of Ohio and Saranac avenues on Youngstown’s North Side on Saturday afternoon and was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

A Youngstown police report states that officers were called to that location at 1:10 p.m. for gunshots and a possible shooting victim. They found a gunshot victim in the area of Redondo Road, also on the North Side, and the victim was taken to the hospital.

The Youngstown Police Crime Scene Unit was called to the scene to help with the investigation.

When Youngstown police were asked whether the gunshot wound or wounds were serious and for additional information on how the shooting happened, city Spokesman Andy Resnick said the investigation is “ongoing” and asked for anyone with information on the shooting to call 330-746-2583.
