YOUNGSTOWN — Turnout on the first day of early voting Wednesday in Mahoning County was light.

“It’s been very slow,” said Thomas McCabe, deputy director of the Mahoning County Board of Elections. “We’re not expecting a lot of voters during the first couple of weeks.”

Early in-person voting at board of elections offices is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today to Friday, from Oct. 15 to 18, and from Oct. 21 to 25.

The hours are extended to 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Oct. 28 to Nov. 1.

Early voting is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 2, the Saturday before the election; 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 3, the Sunday before the election; and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 4, the Monday before the primary.

The polls in Ohio are open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5.
