Mon. 11:29 a.m.: Tillis, Vassar play Warren for holidays

WARREN — Pam Tillis and Phil Vassar will team up for a Holidays and Hits Tour that comes to the Robins Theatre on Dec. 1. 

Vassar twice has been named ASCAP songwriter of the year. He has 10 number one country singles and 27 that reached the top 40, including “Carlene,” “In Real Love,” “Little Rodeo,” “For A Little While,” and “Just Another Day in Paradise.

Vassar is the host of “Songs From the Cellar,” which just wrapped its third season and airs nationally on Circle Network.

Tillis is the daughter of country music legend Mel Tillis and multi-media artist Doris Tillis. The Grammy winner and Grand Ole Opry member had six number-one country songs in the ’90s – “Shake the Sugar Tree,” “Mi Vida Loca,” “When You Walk In The Room,” “In Between Dances,” “Don’t Tell Me What To Do,” and “Maybe It Was Memphis.”

She’s also had a successful acting career, appearing in the films “The Thing Called Love” and “The Neon Highway,” the television series “L.A. Law,” “Diagnosis: Murder” and “Nashville” and the Broadway production of “Smokey Joe’s Café.”

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show range from $29 to $69 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Robins box office and online at robinstheatre.com.
