Woman arraigned on theft charges

WARREN — A former treasurer at Liberty Local Schools and one-time office manager for a Hubbard veterinary practice was arraigned Wednesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on two counts of identity fraud, forgery and grand theft.

Tracey E. Obermiyer, 51, of Obermiyer Road, Brookfield, is free on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

Judge W. Wyatt McKay set a pretrial hearing for Sept. 8.

Complaints allege she created false records related to employee payroll and tax withholdings, diverted funds to pay personal expenses, forged checks and altered financial records as part of a $325,000 scheme, according to the indictment and Brookfield police.
