GIRARD — A Warren man is accused of making threats to “shoot up” a Girard residence.

Tawaun Ceasar, 29, of 3109 Merriweather St. NW, posted $5,000 bond Monday after pleading not guilty at his arraignment. He is facing charges of aggravated menacing and aggravated trespassing, court records show.

Officers were called to 348 Idaho Ave. at about 2:24 p.m. Saturday for a man who allegedly threatened to shoot up the home. When officers arrived, they observed two men at the residence, one of whom was entering the residence and the other getting out of a vehicle.

The police report states one of the males went to the victim’s backyard and the other, identified as Ceasar, walked toward police. The report also states the other male was unable to be found.

Ceasar was asked why he was at the residence and told police he and the other man were there to see a friend.

When police spoke to the resident, he said he “had no idea who the male on his porch was” and the man entered without permission.

The resident told police Ceasar and the other man were at his house looking for his wife’s address and phone number, which he refused to give. He told police one of the men, Ceasar, then threatened to shoot up his residence.

Ceasar told police he neither had a gun nor owned one, the report states. He said they went to the victim’s residence to collect money.

Ceasar was in Girard Municipal Court Monday for his arraignment. In addition to the bond, he was ordered to have no contact with the victim and is not allowed within 1,000 feet of the residence. He will be back in court at 9 a.m. Aug. 11 for a pretrial hearing.
