Casino revenue falls for 2nd month
WARREN — Revenue at Ohio’s four casinos was down 7 percent last month and is off more than 16 percent since July, when it notched an all-time high of $86 million, according to the Ohio Casino Control Commission.
The latest report from the commission shows revenue in September eclipsed $71.8 million. That’s 5 percent greater than the $68.3 million the four casinos tallied in September 2019.
Table games last month generated $21 million in revenue and slot revenue was $50.7 million compared to $22.6 million and $54.7 million in August for a total $77.3 million.
In September 2019, table games generated $22.4 million and slots, $46.1 million, according to the commission.
The casinos were closed March 13 to June 18 due to Ohio’s discontinued stay-at-home order during the viral outbreak. They recorded $34 million in revenue in June before setting the record in July.
The casinos in Ohio are Jack Cleveland Casino, Jack Cincinnati Casino, Hollywood Casino Toledo and Hollywood Casino Columbus.
