Smith, 23, of East Dewey Avenue was indicted Thursday on murder and a gun specification in the early May 27 shooting death of Ty-Ron Perry Jr., 16, of Akron in the 600 block of East Dewey Avenue on the city’s South Side. During an arraignment May 29, Smith’s attorney, Frank Cassese, told Youngstown Municipal Court Judge Renee DiSalvo that he did not think Smith should get a high bond because the killing took place in Smith’s home, “not out on the streets.” He suggested a $100,000 bond.
