Liberty, Valley Christian, JM all defeat league opponents

¯ LIBERTY 59, CAMPBELL 53: LIBERTY — The Leopards came out on top in a back-and-forth battle agaisnt Campbell Tuesday after outscoring the Red Devils 17-12 in the fourth quarter.

Jameer Weaver led Liberty with 14 points and was followed up by Rashad Chambers and D’Andre Venters who each had 11 points. O’marion Dawson added nine.

Four of the five players who registered points for Campbell reached double figures with Christian James leading the team with 14 points. Skevos Kouros scored 12, Zach Luciano had 11 and Collin Michaels added 10.

¯ VALLEY CHRISTIAN 41, UNITED 37: YOUNGSTOWN — Joe Battista led Valley Christian in a low-scoring affair, beating United.

Battista led Valley Christian with 11 points and Sekou Stanley scored nine.

Valley Christian moves to 7-3 on the year and 6-2 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

¯ JACKSON-MILTON 64, MINERAL RIDGE 49: NORTH JACKSON — AJ Bouch led the Blue Jays with a game-high 18 points in a win over Mineral Ridge.

Bouch was followed up by Frank Prozy and Mason Robison who each scored 14 points. Cole Grope added 11.

The Rams were led by Mo Clark who scored 15 points.

¯ LAKEVIEW 63, HUBBARD 46: CORTLAND — The Bulldogs outscored Hubbard 23-8 in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Eagles in a Northeast-8 victory.

Brendon Kilpatrick led Lakeview with 26 points and Ryan Carnahan added 10.

Riley Heckert led the Eagles with 17 points, with Anthony Gagliardi following up with nine.

¯ CANTON SOUTH 58, WEST BRANCH 51 (ot): CANTON — The Warriors scored 13 fourth quarter points to force overtime, but were outscored 13-6 in the extra frame to drop a league contest to Canton South.

Jaxon Hendershott and Josh Gregory led West Branch on the scoresheet with 17 points each.

The Warriors fall to 13-5 on the season and 5-3 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

¯ SALEM 40, CARROLLTON 40: CARROLLTON — The Quakers fought off a fourth quarter rally to walk out of the Carrollton gym with a win to move to 11-4 on the year.

Salem built up a cushion in the third quarter, outscoring the Warriors 16-9 to keep Carrollton from retaking the lead in the fourth.

Drew Weir led the Quakers (11-4, 7-1 Eastern Buckeye Conference) with 14 points and Hunter Griffith added 10.
