4 locals on all-star rosters

Four area high school senior basketball players were scheduled to play this weekend in the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association North-South all-star games.

The all-star weekend was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

On the girls’ side, Grace Mangapora of Canfield was slated to play for the North in the Divisions I-II game, with Poland’s Nick Blanch scheduled to coach the North team. Other northeast Ohio players on the North I-II roster included Jenna Riccardo of Beaver Local, Peyton Davis of North Canton Hoover, Destiny Leo of Easlake North and Lindsay Linard of Medina.

In the girls Divisions III-IV game, John F. Kennedy’s Caitlyn Condoleon was on the roster. Among others on the North team were Madison Cloonan and Michaela Cloonan of Cornerstone Christian and Ally Winnen of Elyria Catholic.

The boys Divisions I-II North roster included Derrick Anderson of Boardman. Other northeast Ohioans on the roster were Chritian Parker of Canton GlenOak, Connor O’Toole of Gilmour Academy, Luke Frazier of Mentor Lake Catholic and Grant Huffman of Lakewood St. Edward.

McDonald’s Zach Rasile, who finished his career as the No. 2 all-time leading scorer in Ohio history, was on the North III-IV roster. He was joined by Lukas Swartz of Mogadore, Angelo Milini of Canton Central Catholic and Gbolahan Adio of Richmond Heights, among others.
