Americans must work together to fight evil

DEAR EDITOR: Americans are being terrorized by fellow Americans (AKA ICE Agents). Hiding your head in the sand is not a free pass. We are ALL responsible for what is happening to our country. Republican representatives and senators need to come out of hiding and do their jobs — representing the people, not the president. Americans need to band together (peacefully) and combat the evil that is ruining our beloved America. God has assigned worth to ALL of us, and no one has the right to change that. DEAR EDITOR: When masked paramilitary thugs employed by the federal government can shoot a U.S. citizen in the face without cause and not be held accountable, and when the leaders of our government spread lies suggesting the victim deserved to be killed, it’s time to admit that we no longer live in a free country. DEAR EDITOR: “SHAME!” Shouted a bystander rushing to try to aid a woman shot to death by ICE as the victim’s car, now out of control, crashes in Minneapolis. DEAR EDITOR: Star Parker’s pervasive nonsense got loose again in her column printed in the December 31-January 1 edition of the Vindicator. She supports Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Do we really need a state income tax anymore?

DEAR EDITOR: Ohio has gradually become the land of tax and spend. In 1971, the year before the state income tax appeared on the ballot, the entire state functioned on tax collections amounting to $1.6 billion. In 2024, tax collections mushroomed to $26.3 billion. The state income tax alone generated $10.4 billion in 2024, about eight times total state revenue in 1971. It is illuminating to look at all the new Ohio taxes since the state income tax began in 1972. The state lottery tax now generates $5.9 billion.
