DEAR EDITOR:

“SHAME!” Shouted a bystander rushing to try to aid a woman shot to death by ICE as the victim’s car, now out of control, crashes in Minneapolis. The accuracy of that accusation will never be acknowledged by Kristi Noem, border czar Tom Homan or the ultimate authority for their thuggery, Donald Trump. They believe themselves above shame, above the law and above the Constitution.

Video of the incident shows masked men aggressively approaching the left-side window of the vehicle, opened to wave (as she had) them to pass by as the lone female driver attempted to pull out from the curb into a traffic lane. An armed masked man, yanking at the door handle then reaching inside the vehicle, was sufficiently frightening for the driver to back up and attempt to pull out. Her directional intent can be seen in the angle of her vehicle’s tires. The reputation of ICE bullies for pulling people from cars, throwing them to the ground, arresting and detaining them for weeks without evidence or charges is sufficient reason for anyone approached in this way to attempt to flee. Simply fleeing an armed, masked and aggressive group is never sufficient reason to fire on someone saving themselves by fleeing an ill-trained, irresponsible excuse for law enforcement threatening them.

Trump and his lackeys, of course, declared, within an hour of the incident, it was the fault of the woman driving the vehicle who was “weaponizing her car” to commit an act of “domestic terrorism.” Compare their blatant public lies to the video. Ask why Trump budgeted $74 billion of his big meadow muffin tax bill for ICE operations. Time to reel in the bar-brawling, badly trained bunch of bonus-earning alleged “patriots” of ICE, fire their leaders and impeach the bag of waste, fraud and abuse occupying what’s left of the White House. Or, share the SHAME. Maybe a mask will help. VOTE!
