DEAR EDITOR: After spending millions of dollars, and inconveniencing people for two years, the diverging diamond is reality. It is certainly no better than what was before, and in some areas is worse. Sentimental feelings for the Poland Library

DEAR EDITOR: Residents of Poland are urging the trustees of the Mahoning County Public Library to consider the sentimental feelings we have for our library. One has only to look at the extensive list of residents from our community who donated to bring this building to fruition. Many of the contributions to this effort were given by people in memory of their loved ones. For example, the cupola atop this masterpiece was gifted by the Alexoff family in memory of their mother. Make our city appear welcoming

DEAR EDITOR: While there are conflicting opinions and ideas on how to revitalize our downtown area, the goal is the same. We want to see businesses return. We want to see growth. We want people to visit, to seek entertainment and to dine. And most of all, to spread the word about their experiences. I see a great deal of potential in our new mayor. The death of the young woman in Minneapolis was tragic. She leaves a child behind. But all the SoundOff writers forget one thing. Blocking a public road is illegal. Kimberly-Clark decision was certainly no accident

DEAR EDITOR: We are so pleased and excited that Kimberly-Clark has chosen to heavily invest in our area to develop a huge manufacturing and distribution center here for its products. But one thing I have not seen in our local media is anything about what Kimberly-Clark plans to manufacture at this new facility. If we go back to COVID, the health care industry was at the mercy of China because virtually all of the health care sterile and nonsterile synthetic fabric-based disposable products (masks, gowns, etc.) all came from China. Just wondering: Some questions deserve answers

DEAR EDITOR: Several months ago, 600 Honduran children from very young to teens were to be deported and flown back after midnight to Honduras, their future in doubt on arrival, separated from their families. A judge’s order temporarily intervened and stopped it. Where are their parents and where are these children now? Reunited? I don’t think so. Deported sneakily? Likely. They have been forgotten.
