Just wondering: Some questions deserve answers
DEAR EDITOR:
Several months ago, 600 Honduran children from very young to teens were to be deported and flown back after midnight to Honduras, their future in doubt on arrival, separated from their families. A judge’s order temporarily intervened and stopped it. Where are their parents and where are these children now? Reunited? I don’t think so. Deported sneakily? Likely. They have been forgotten. After all, to this administration they are simply unimportant … and the wrong color.
Will anyone ever really inspect or try to find out if these “boaters” were really big time narco-terrorists in small boats leaving Venezuela, or simply escapees from the Maduro terrors? Is anyone in our esteemed electorate thinking of “war crimes” against our ‘war’ department or have they accepted them as really bad guys moving drugs to the U.S. and can therefore be blown up? Actually obliterated if the videos tell all.
Why didn’t we just surround them with our naval or Coast Guard ships and capture them? They were in little boats. Is Maduro worse than the convicted and ‘sentenced in an American court to 45 years’ for his drug empire’ Honduran president who, by the way, was pardoned by our president; he, our president, who oddly is not worried about Venezuelan drugs quite as much since it appears to be oil he is really after.
Listening to experts, this oil will not be made ‘usable’ or available without major reforms for years to come. Many of us will not benefit from this boon of oil, not that we would anyhow as our president himself plans on managing the country, oil, and the moolah from it.
Are the American oil companies ready to work on this for Trump as they helped elect him?
If this new ballroom is going to host 1,000 (gasp) guests, who pays for these affairs, food and drinks? Good Lord, the cost of utilities alone will be pretty scary. Actually if we alienate too many more countries there won’t be enough important people left to be invited to state dinners to partake of this wonder.
Well anyway, guess what, we will be paying for it while lots of Americans can barely pay their own utility bills, much less light up the ballroom’s crystal chandeliers. BTW, will they park all of the limos on the newly paved patio? It sort of resembles a parking lot.
