DEAR EDITOR:

I have been sitting idly by when it comes to Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene switching political parties, from Democrat to Republican. Now here are some thoughts and questions.

After the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, is Sheriff Greene saying he aligns himself with the attackers — the ones who attacked Capitol police? And the Proud Boys and others who almost killed Officer Fanone? The ones that took weapons, bear spray, zip ties and worse when they chased members of Congress and the Vice President? The ones that chanted “Hang Mike Pence?” The ones that built a gallows on the grounds outside the Capitol?

What Republican party is Jerry Greene joining? What is his idea of “Law and Order”?

I challenge you to read Adam Kinziger’s book, “Renegade.”
