Tedd W. Davison 1951-2026

GREENWOOD, S.C. — Tedd William Davison, 74, husband of Gail Wicker Davison, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at his home.

Born April 26, 1951, in Youngstown, he was the son of the late Vern and Lois Stoeber Davison.

Tedd attended Poland Seminary High School, graduating in 1969, and went on to attend The Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering in 1975.

Tedd spent more than 30 years working as an engineer for Industrial Plating, Greenwood Plating, Hitachi and Michelin. After retiring from engineering, he continued working by taking over his father Vern’s business, the Town One Company, which he operated until his death.

Whether operating a ham radio, learning Japanese or teaching himself to play the guitar, Tedd approached every hobby with curiosity and enthusiasm. He was a passionate collector of firearms, tools and audio equipment.

An engineer from birth, Tedd rarely encountered a technical problem he couldn’t fix — whether it involved electronics, automobiles or carpentry. He was also active in the community, serving as the Greenwood County Emergency Communications Coordinator and as treasurer of the Greenwood Amateur Radio Society (AI4WN).

Tedd was deeply passionate about his alma mater, The Ohio State University, whether cheering on the football team or proudly flying his Ohio State flag. While he enjoyed his many hobbies and interests, what he loved most was spending time with his family — especially taking his children and grandchildren out on his boat on Lake Greenwood.

In addition to his wife, Gail, he is survived by his sister, Jill Downie (Bill) of Poland; and his children, Mandy (Jay) of Clemmons, North Carolina, Melissa (Brad) Walker of Canfield, Sara (Nick) Rodland of Poland, Mike (Stacey) Simpson of Summerville, South Carolina, Katherine (Gebil) Gebremedhin of Maplewood, New Jersey, and Grace (Jon) Geiger of Cleveland Heights. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Nora and Kimi Crouch, Paul, Drew and Jake Walker, Lyndi, Ela and Lexi Rodland, Addy, Emma Gail and Jonathan Simpson, Liam Cousson, Eyoab and Selam Gebremedhin, and Arlo, Jane and Flora Geiger; as well as many nieces and nephews and his very dear friend, Zelmo T. Clodfetter.

The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.

OH-IO!
