Robert D. Morris Sr. 1935-2025
YOUNGSTOWN — Robert Dean “Sonny” Morris Sr. of Boardman passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, at the age of 90.
He was born on Aug. 28, 1935, in West Virginia.
Robert lived life to the fullest and found joy in the outdoors and in the company of his loved ones. He loved hunting, cheering at NASCAR races, country music and taking family vacations that created lasting memories. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family, who will forever remember his warmth, humor and devotion. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Robert will be remembered for his strength, kindness and the special place he held in the hearts of those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joanne Devorich Morris, formerly of Boardman; his parents, James and Elizabeth Williams Morris; and his sister, Gurt Flinn.
He is survived by his three children, Robert Morris Jr. of Boardman, Debbie Morris of Boardman and Joseph (Kristan) Morris of Boardman; his grandchildren, Nicole Morris of Boardman, Joseph Morris of Boardman and Sahvanna Morris of Boardman; and his beloved cat, Smokey.
His life and legacy live on through his family, who will always cherish the love and memories he gave them.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 12, at Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home.
