Annmarie P. Pizzola 1931-2024
STRUTHERS — Annmarie P. Pizzola, 93, passed away early Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, 2024, at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman, after a brief illness.
She was born May 11, 1931, in Trotter, Pa., the youngest of nine children of Joseph and Amelia Soho. She moved to Newton Falls at the age of 3. Annmarie was a 1949 graduate of Newton Falls High School and attended Kent State University.
She married Felix “Phil” Pizzola on Oct. 28, 1950. Annamarie and Phil shared 72 years of marriage until his passing, Dec. 15, 2022.
Annmarie was employed as a reading tutor for the Struthers schools for 21 years, retiring in 1993. She was also a lifetime member of Christ Our Savior Parish-St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes, working in the yard, tending to her flowers and attending her grandchildren’s extracurricular activities. She was an avid Cleveland Guardians fan.
Annmarie will be dearly missed by her daughter, Susan Corvino of Boardman; son, Robert Pizzola of Poland; grandchildren, Brian (Lori) Corvino of Noblesville, Indiana, Jennifer (Jude) Erdman of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, and Joseph (Mandy) Corvino of Canfield; great-grandsons, Anderson, Carter and Giovanni; and sister-in-law, Barbara Pizzola of Austintown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phil; four brothers and four sisters.
The family wishes to thank Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman for their kind and compassionate care of Annmarie. Also a very special thank you to her caregivers, Nicole and Kathy, for all their care and kindness over the last few years.
There will be no calling hours or services at this time.
She will be laid to rest in Lake Park Cemetery next to her husband.
