John P. Richardson 1969-2024
CANFIELD — John Paul Richardson, 55, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024.
John was born Jan. 24, 1969, in Boardman, the son of Geroge and Maryann Galla Richardson.
John grew up with an interest in how the world worked and a deep sense of duty. John graduated from Boardman High School in 1987 and went on to play football at Indiana University of Pennsylvania before transferring to Youngstown State University to complete his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering. During this time, John also dedicated many hours in the gym, accomplishing feats of strength, including a 545 lb. bench press.
John began and ended his career as a director of engineering and operations at Duca Manufacturing & Consulting Inc., where he was vital to their operations and reputation as a leader in the field of induction heating and melting. As a demonstration of his innovative spirit, John patented an AC melt to bushing current detector that was used in the designs of induction furnace equipment and parts.
In his personal life, John was a man of strong principles with a commitment to family. He was a pillar for them, giving them unending support and strength throughout his life. He loved watching his son compete, ultimately helping to coach his wrestling team to a state championship. John’s selflessness and strong family values led him to dedicate much of his life to caring for his ailing mother.
John loved the simple things in life. Whether it was cutting grass, caring for his property or sharing stories from his life experiences, John loved to be around his close circle of family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gina Agresta Richardson, and their son, Jacob Richardson; his mother, Maryann Galla Richardson; his sisters, Colleen Dellapenna, Debra Calai and Elizabeth Miller; and his brother, George Richardson.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Richardson; his brother-in-law, Anthony Dellapenna; and his nephew, Nicholas Richardson.
His memory will forever be cherished by his extended family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Friends and family may pay their respects 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman. To honor John’s wishes, a private ceremony for immediate family will be held at their residence.
John will be deeply missed, but his dedication to his family, his deep loyalty and his unending compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
