Mary F. Harver 1926-2024

MINERAL RIDGE — Mary F. Harver, 97, formerly of Youngstown’s west side, passed away Wednesday morning, May 8, 2024, in the comfort of her home, after a long and fulfilling life.

Mary was born Oct. 4, 1926, in Niles, the daughter of the late John and Mary Danyi Strah, and was a lifelong area resident.

Mary’s professional journey included roles at the American Optical Company and as the office manager for Buckeye Weather Stripping Company. However, her most cherished role was that of a devoted mother and caregiver to her family.

A devout member of the former Holy Name of Jesus Church, Mary was actively involved in the rosary society. She found joy in dancing the jitterbug, but treasured moments spent with her family above all else.

She leaves to forever cherish her memory, her two sons, Ronald (Anita) Harver of Warren and John Harver of Austintown; three grandsons, Jacob Harver, Eric Harver and Ian Harver; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her husband of 73 years, Joseph E. Harver, whom she married May 5, 1951, passed away Jan. 31, 2024.

A brother, John Strah, also preceded Mary in death.

Family and friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband.

In lieu of flowers, Mary’s family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
