Julia A. Cohol 1931-2024
GIRARD — Julia A. Cohol, 92, died Monday evening, April 29, 2024, at her home. She was born May 5, 1931, in McDonald, a daughter of Anton A. and Ann Makar Sperlak, and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Cohol, a 1950 graduate of McDonald High School, was a meat cutter for over 30 years, working at Value King, A & P and IGA grocery stores. She was a member of the Croatian Club No. 598.
Her husband, Michael L. Cohol, whom she married March 29, 1952, died in August 1986.
She leaves a son, Dennis Cohol of Niles; four grandchildren, Dennis (Norma) Cohol II, Tammy (Joe) Poggi, Kris (Kelly) Cohol and Ryan Cohol; and eight great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Brianna, Kaylin, Gabriella, Giuliana, Connor, William and Chelsea.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael; and a sister, Bonnie Sperlak.
Family and friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Eric Diehl officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Covenant Life Fellowship Church, 5900 W. Liberty St., Hubbard, OH 44425.
Julia’s final resting place will be in Tod Homestead Cemetery.
