Jane C. Sturdevant 1929-2024
FORT MYERS, Fla. — Jane Clara Sturdevant, a truly wonderful, energetic and delightful woman, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, with her family by her side.
Jane was born Oct. 25, 1929, in Austintown, as a triplet, to parents Michael William and Agnes Brannigan Miller.
Jane said her boys treated her like a queen and she loved being treated like one. She enjoyed baking and was affectionately known as “Grandma Cupcake.” She loved traveling, playing cards, dancing and watching football. She was always the life of the party, brought joy to those around her and made everyone smile.
After Jane raised her children, she worked as an aide in the Austintown school district, where she was endearingly called “Sarge.”
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Tracy), Dale (Linda) and Douglas; her grandchildren, Brian (Shannon), Kevin (Sarah), Kari, Samantha (Drew) Hinnant, John (Helen), Michael and Karen Hudson; and her great-grandchildren, Emma Hinnant, Liam Hinnant and Ethan Sturdevant.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” R. Sturdevant, and six siblings.
There will be no services.
