David B. Stebelton Sr. 1959-2024

He was born Dec. 10, 1959, in Youngstown, the son of Paul O. and Dolores Bryan Stebelton.

David graduated from Poland Seminary High School in 1978, before achieving his doctorate in optometry from The Ohio State University. Dr. Dave was a dedicated optometrist and helped countless people in the nearly 40 years he ran his own practice, the Poland Eye Center. He was a member of the Ohio and American Optometric Associations.

Anyone who knew Dr. Dave knew how much he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, skiing and golfing. He was a member of various associations such as the Lowellville Rod and Gun Club and the Safari Club International. He loved to travel with his family, especially to their condo in Florida. His zest for life shone bright through his favorite activities and also through his love of cooking.

David is survived by his wife, Stephanie Stebelton, whom he married Jan. 14, 1995; mother, Dolores Stebelton; daughters, Lauren (Jason) Mauro and Jill Stebelton; and son, David Stebelton Jr.

David was preceded in death by his father, Paul O. Stebelton; and his brother, Michael Stebelton.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel.

Prayers will begin at 10:15 a.m. and be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2024 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, New Middletown.

He will be laid to rest in Poland Riverside Cemetery.
