John C. Burchett 1950-2024
NORTH JACKSON — John C. Burchett, 73, died Sunday, March 24, 2024, at his home.
John was born June 6, 1950, in Youngstown, a son of John Edward Burchett and Jane Carson.
John was a 1969 graduate of Canfield High School. He then worked at General Motors as a line worker until his retirement.
He was a valued member of Eagles 3298, the Pythians, and the Masonic community. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it be tending to his garden, reading, collecting guns, sharing moments with his cats or exploring the treasures of flea markets.
John is survived by his wife, Janet Thomas; mother, Jane Carson; daughter, Michelle Burchett; sister, Mary Walter Knarr; and grandchildren, Aiden Fitzpatrick and Kaleigh Fitzpatrick.
John was preceded in death by his father, and brother, Russell.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate John’s life will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 4303 Mahoning Ave.
Prior to the service, calling hours will take place starting at 3 p.m.
