Florence M. Bosko 1922-2024

CAMPBELL — Florence M. Bosko, 101, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, at Assumption Village Nursing Home.

Florence was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Campbell, a daughter of John and Anna Ofcharik Hassay.

She attended St. Elizabeth Grade School and was a 1940 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.

She worked at various places including General Electric and as a reporter for The Daily Legal News.

Florence was a member of the former St. Elizabeth Church and was a member of the Ladies Jednota Lodge Branch 202.

She is survived by her many nieces and nephews, including Robert Hassay, Nancy Ondash, Frank Hassay, Jeannette Menz, Donna Fisher, Carole Durkin, Jacqueline Casey, Glen Hassay, James Hassay, attorney Wayne Hassay and Kathleen Hassay.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steven Bosko; her brothers, John B. Hassay, Frank Hassay, Steven Hassay and Joseph Hassay; and her sister, Helen Cernock. She was also preceded in death by her nephews, Kenny Cernock, Ray Hassay, John Hassay and Jerome Hassay; and her niece, Francis Antal.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell.

Florence will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
