Mary Louise Timlin Slifka 1931-2023

YOUNGSTOWN — Mary Louise Timlin Slifka, born May 5, 1931, in Youngstown, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023.

Mary Lou’s life was defined by her love of family and the relationships she nurtured, as well as by her unwavering faith. She was a woman of strong principles and a source of inspiration for those fortunate enough to know her.

While we mourn the loss of Mary Lou, we also celebrate the remarkable life she led and the profound impact she had on those around her. Her memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to guide us.

Mary Lou now joins her beloved husband, Paul, who predeceased her; as well as her brothers, Joseph Timlin and Paul Timlin.

She is survived by her son, Paul Slifka of New Caney, Texas; her daughter, Lisa Strickland and son-in-law, Anthony Strickland of Youngstown; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sara Radke of Sonoma, California. She has many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

A Mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4490 Norquest Blvd., Austintown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley-Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514, in Mary Lou’s name.

Mary Lou Slifka’s legacy of love, strength and devotion will forever be our source of inspiration and strength. May she rest in peace.
