JoAnn Garver 1930-2022
POLAND — Our beloved mother, JoAnn Garver, 92, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2022.
She was born in Huntington County, Huntington, Ind., a daughter of Walter J. and Lena Galbraith Gressley, Aug. 10, 1930. She had nine brothers and sisters.
JoAnn married John P. Garver (now deceased), on Aug. 21, 1949. They were married for over 66 years.
She was an Avon representative for over 50 years and a homemaker. She loved to bake for her family, especially pies, and during the holidays, baked dozens of cookies and fruitcakes.
JoAnn leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Candice Orr, Pamela Garver (Lloyd Miller), John Robert Garver (Sherri), Jo Ellen Garver and Rodney Garver (Sandy); seven grandchildren, Daniel Orr (Dorene), Jed Chismar and Aby Chismar Lynn (Larry), Jessica Garver, Megan Garver (Chris), and Zachary Garver (Jackie) and Mark Garver; great-grandchildren, Daniel Orr II, Reva Jo Orr (Brandon), Sophia, Zane (deceased), Gregory and Eisley Garver (Zachary), and Vera Lynn (Aby); and great-great-grandchild, Warren (Reva Jo).
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Woodworth Church of the Brethren.
