YOUNGSTOWN — The police department is investigating the city’s seventh homicide after a man was found with multiple stab wounds on the East Side early today.

Police were called to the 1500 block of Hickory Court around 1:15 a.m. for a man who had been stabbed, according to a news release from the police department. Officers found the victim, who had multiple stab wounds, lying in a yard.

Officers performed life-saving measures until an ambulance arrived. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, where he later died, the release states.

No further information, including the victim’s name, is being released at this time.

The homicide is being investigated by the detective bureau and the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office.
