Marjorie A. Urchek 1926-2022

RAVENNA — Marjorie A. Urchek, 96, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022, while residing at Kent Ridge.

She was born April 24, 1926, in Warren, to parents Steven and Mary Stanislaw Liptak.

Marjorie graduated from Howland High School in Howland. She worked in the bookstore at Kent State University and worked with the children for Happy Day School for many years.

On June 12, 1945, she married her beloved Jacob Urchek. On that same day a tornado touched in Warren, which prepared them for anything that would come their way. Together they raised their family on Lakewood Road and moved to Wildwood, Fla., after retirement.

Marjorie loved nature. She had a deep love for horseback riding. Her favorite horse was an Arabian mare, Tara. She also enjoyed reading, painting, kayaking and hiking in the Ocala National Forest. Marjorie had a zest for life, an adventurous spirit and tried to cherish every minute of it. At age 72, she and her son, Gary, went skydiving for the first time, and white water rafting on the New River in West Virginia.

Her faith in God and his son, Jesus, was the top priority in her life. She will now be praising her Lord Savoir face to face.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Cathy Moore, Diane Coe, Mark Urchek, Gary Urchek and Gregory (Karen) Urchek; her grandchildren, Jason, Brittany, Vanessa, Aaron and Jared; as well as her great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Lincoln, Leo, Logan, (and one on the way) Dylan, Zoe and Liam.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jacob Urchek; and her brother, Richard Liptak.

Her wishes for cremation are being honored.

Friends and family will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, with a 1 p.m. memorial service celebrated by Pastor Dan Alexoff and Pastor Jason Urchek, at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Private entombment will take place in Grandview Memorial Park.

Condolences and fond memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com.
