Frank A. Dobson 1935-2022
GIRARD — Frank A. Dobson, 86, formerly of Burkey Road in Austintown, died unexpectedly of natural causes Friday evening, Jan. 7, 2022, at his home.
Frank was born Sept. 11, 1935, in Hubbard, a son of the late Eugene and Effie Shafer Dobson, and was a lifelong Mahoning Valley resident. He was a graduate of Hubbard High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Dobson worked for Coca-Cola Bottling, Economy Electric, and also had various odd jobs throughout the area.
He enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially football; he also enjoyed building model airplanes, painting pictures and spending time with his grandkids.
Frank is survived by his wife, Hilda Day Dobson, whom he married Feb. 17, 1961; a daughter, Patty (Daniel) Rovynak of Montgomery, Ala.; a son, Jeffrey (Julie) Dobson of Cortland; six grandchildren, Nichole, Jeffrey (Sara), Brandon (Ashley), Jason, Danielle (Jared) and Sabrina; and four great-grandchildren, Parker, Olivia, Ethan and Mea.
Two brothers, Thomas and Hughey Dobson; a sister, Margie Davis; and a great-grandson, Liam, are deceased.
Family and friends may pay respects from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m.
