Linda M. Hionas 1953-2021

She was born Sept. 20, 1953, in Warren, the daughter of Reginald and Nancy D’Orio Giancola Sr.

Linda was a 1971 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in professional arts from St. Joseph’s College in Maine, in 1985. She was employed for 41 years as an RN in the pediatrics department at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, retiring in 2016.

She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, St. James Catholic Church in Warren, enjoyed reading, cooking, decorating, traveling and spending time with her friends and family, especially with her grandchildren. To know Linda was to love her. She was a beautiful soul, the best mom and a great wife.

Linda will be sadly missed by her husband, Michael Hionas, whom she married Aug. 16, 1984; two daughters, Jenna DiLoreto and her husband, Joseph of Howland and Krista Hionas (Chris Uthe) of Warren; four brothers, Reginald Giancola Jr. and his wife, Darlene of Niles, Nick Giancola and his wife, Cindy of McDonald, Larry Giancola of Mineral Ridge and David Giancola of Niles; and four grandchildren, Dominic, Nicholas, Holly and Joseph.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call two hours prior to the 4 p.m. memorial service Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Facial coverings are recommended for all friends and family coming to pay their respects at the funeral home.
