Michael C. Connelly 1947-2021

GREENVILLE, Texas — Michael C. Connelly, age 73, died Monday, March 29, 2021, at the Hunt Regional Hospital in Greenville, Texas.

Michael was born to John E. Connelly and Angela Sheehan Connelly on April 9, 1947. He graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1965. He then attended Youngstown State University, graduating in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in financial business administration. He was a member of St. Dominic Church in Youngstown. Michael recently retired from Raytheon Corporation in Greenville, Texas, where he worked in the payroll / tax department.

Michael was an avid fisherman. He was also a lifelong fan of basketball, having played through high school; he followed collegiate and professional basketball for most of his life.

Michael was a beloved nephew to his aunt, Helen / Sr. Myra Connelly, who was a member of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary. She passed away after 76 years in the community.

Michael leaves behind one sister, Maureen Connelly Porter and her husband, Ralph Porter of San Jose, Calif. He also leaves behind two nephews, Daniel Poulin-Porter and his wife, Danielle of Burlingame, Calif., and their two daughters, Madeleine and Mirabelle, and Christopher Porter and his wife, Meagan of Liberty Lake, Wash., and their son, Jaxsen.

The calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021, at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.

Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2021, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44507. He will then be interred in Resurrection Cemetery, Youngstown.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Fox Funeral Service and his many friends and co-workers at Raytheon Corporation in Greenville, Texas.
