Daniel R. Yannone 1966-2021; Neisha Zahn 1968-2021; Tyler Yannone 2002-2021

ST. THOMAS — Daniel R. Yannone, 54, formerly of Boardman, died with his wife, Neisha, and son, Tyler, in a helicopter crash, Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Daniel was born in Youngstown on March 13, 1966, to Richard and Mary Argenziano Yannone of Boardman. He graduated from Boardman High School in 1984 and attended Youngstown State University.

Neisha, 52, was born in Lubbock, Texas, April 1, 1968, the daughter of Ronnie and Lana Dawson Zahn. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1986. She also graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in accounting.

Tyler, 18, was born Oct. 31, 2002, in St. Thomas. He was a senior at Antilles School, where he was on the sailing team. He received both his driver’s license and pilot’s license when he was 16. He had been accepted to Emory Riddle Aviation School in Florida upon graduation.

Neisha and Daniel were married in St. Thomas on March 26, 1994, and lived on the island for 30 years. They belonged to St. Thomas Reformed Church.

They owned BEEP Business Service in St. Thomas and were customs brokers.

Neisha is survived by her mother, Lana Zahn; and brother, Kyle (Amy) Zahn of Lubbock, Texas; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceeased by her father, Ronnie Zahn.

Daniel is survived by parents, Richard and Mary Yannone of Boardman; sisters, Lisa (Paul) Rosati of Indialantic, Fla., Michele (Ryan) Nespeca of Ooltewah, Tenn.; brother, Anthony (Kit) Yannone of Powell, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2021, at St. Charles Church in Boardman with the Rev. Philip Rogers officiating.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn and social distancing followed.

Any monetary contributions will be sent to St. Thomas Reformed Church.
