Liberty police seek suspect in dirt bike chase Wednesday

LIBERTY — Township police are looking for a suspect in a chase that ended with the person fleeing into a wooded area on foot after crashing a dirt bike early Wednesday. According to a police report, an officer traveling southbound on Belmont Avenue spotted a man riding a black dirt bike northbound with no taillights or license plate. Liberty and Girard’s shared services deal locked in

LIBERTY — An agreement between two districts for services has finally been set, as the Liberty Board of Education approved a shared services agreement with Girard City School District. According to the resolution, Liberty could not employ a chief bus mechanic/bus driver and was in need of someone to assume the role, which Girard had. The agreement allows Liberty to purchase 50% of the employee’s services from Girard for the upcoming school year, effective today through July 30, 2027, which will be reimbursed to Girard through half of the employee’s $72,800 salary and fringe ...

BOARDMAN — Township trustees will request a new levy in November to support police and fire services. Officials say the township’s five-year forecast makes it clear that the cost to maintain services at their current level will become prohibitive.
