WHAT: Township trustees meetings June 9 and July 14

PRESENT: Steve Gerberry, Rich Harkins and Ed Whittaker

Trustees:

•Remembered Tim Gleason, a member of the Weathersfield Board of Education and lifelong advocate for the Weathersfield community who died unexpectedly last month. Gleason was a familiar voice at Mineral Ridge athletic events and a leader of the Mineral Ridge Community Pantry.

•Hired Tyler Pringle as junior firefighter.

•Congratulated fire Lt. Judd Radovic and firefighter Alex Rich for successfully passing the examination for paramedics with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.

•Thanked township residents Jim and Maureen Robbins, owners of ITAM No. 39, for their donation of $4,900 to the Mineral Ridge Fire Association.

•Reminded residents the residential tree limb chipping program has begun and will continue each Friday through Oct. 30. For tree limb pickup, residents must call the township by Thursday of each week to be placed on the list for Friday pickup.

•Accepted an $800 donation from Zackary Gran for maintenance and improvement of the township community park. Officials said the donation will directly benefit the township and its residents through the continued upkeep and enhancement of community recreational facilities.

•Adopted a resolution to enter into a police services agreement with the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. TMHA is contracted with Weathersfield through its police department for additional police services to create a drug- and crime-free environment and to provide for the safety and protection of the residents.
