YOUNGSTOWN — Gunshots struck two women at 4:54 a.m. Saturday on South Lakeview Avenue on the West Side.

Officers were called there for a shooting and saw a silver Toyota Camry parked on the side of the road with an older woman holding her arm on the sidewalk with at least one gunshot wound to her left arm.

As officers checked further, they found a woman inside of the Camry with a gunshot wound to her torso. Officers gave medical aid to the woman, who was in the back seat, according to a Youngstown police report.

Ambulance personnel arrived a short time later and transported the women to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for further medical care. Detectives and crime lab personnel began to investigate.
