WHAT: Board of Education special meeting June 10

PRESENT: Vickie Davis, Tom Farley, John Landers, F. Scott Murray and Candace Rivera

The board:

•Approved a one-year limited teaching contract for Kelly House as an ELA/Reading teacher at Boardman High School.

•Approved the following resignations: Michaela Ross, Boardman Glenwood Junior High School, vocal/general music teacher; Lisa Cooper, Stadium Drive Elementary School, reading teacher; Emily Carr, Central Office, food service helper; Eileen Ramunno, Boardman Glenwood Junior High School, independent aide; and Amy Towle, Stadium Drive Elementary School, Title I tutor.

•Approved the following stipends: $240 for Cheryl Dutch for the drama spring production of “Mean Girls.” The stipend will be paid out of the Drama Activity account; $800 for Boardman employees who are members of the 2025-26 Local Professional Development Committee (Jared Cardillo, Alphonse Cervello, Michael Gerthung, Jennifer Mohr, Stephanie Racz and Jerome Turillo) to be paid out by Title II-A funds; $1,000 each for staff members (Amber Collins, Lauren Cunningham, Mikel Flatley, Kassie Gustafson, Lisa Hughes, Erin Navarro, Carrie Sammartino and Laurel Sanders) for the the Wonders Workbook Curriculum from the Title II grant funding source.

•Approved the following field trips: Boardman High School boys basketball to Marietta College June 22 through 24 to participate in a basketball camp; Boardman High School girls volleyball to Slippery Rock University July 8 through 10 to participate in a volleyball camp and tournament.
