Overnight delays set on U.S. 224 at turnpike bridge

Staff report

Motorists traveling on Boardman-Canfield Road / U.S. Route 224 in Mahoning County should expect short traffic stops Monday to Wednesday during overnight hours as crews complete a bridge deck and beam replacement project on the overhead bridge spanning the Ohio Turnpike, according to a news release from the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission.

Traffic on the bridge will be halted in intervals of up to 15 minutes between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Workers will install three sets of five beams over the course of the three-night project.

During the same period, intermittent rolling roadblocks will be in effect on the Ohio Turnpike mainline at milepost 227.6 between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. each night.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the work zones and plan for brief delays.

Starting at $3.23/week.
